Camaro Superfest
For those of you that missed it, you should be sad, it seems that the place to be in Ypsilanti, Michigan this weekend. According to detnews.com, at the 17th annual Camaro Superfest people and cars came from Michigan, Ontario, and seven other U.S. states. One couple from Nottingham, PA drove 550 miles to get to the car show. They love to come and even with the gas prices as they are, wouldn’t miss this event.
The Southeastern Michigan Camaro Club puts on the Camaro Superfest, and the cars are displayed along the Huron River in Riverside Park. The cars are separated into classes by year and body style and the winners of each class get a plaque. “We try to make as many classes as possible so we can have a lot of winners,” said event chairman Benny Hensel. The popularity of this event has declined since 1992 when the last Camaro was introduced, but Hensel hopes that the numbers will get better again next year when GM introduces a new Camaro next year. So if you missed this event this past weekend, make sure you mark your calendar for next year, especially with the new Camaro to be shown off as well!
