Chevy Malibu
An article in the San Antonio Express News by G. Chambers Williams talks about how General Motors has produced a car, the Chevy Malibu, that can compete with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord, and according to Williams it’s the best in its class. That’s good news for the Detroit auto industry. Now, the general public and consumer need to feel the same way about the Malibu. Williams feels that the Chevy Malibu and the Nissan Altima should be the two top sellers, not the Camry and Accord. He really feels that people need to put their “anti-American car bias aside” they might find that the Malibu is a “first class competitor that outshines its biggest competitors.”
Here’s are some of the specs of the new Chevy Malibu. There are three models available: 2.4-liter, 169-horsepower four-cylinder engine that gets 22 mpg in the city and 33 mpg on the highway. The second model available has a 3.6-liter, 252-horsepower V6 engine, which get 17 mpg in the city and 26 mpg on the highway. The third model is a hybrid that gets 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway. The sticker price is about $28,000 depending on what options you choose. Not bad, especially if you go on Williams’ opinion and find that this car is the top of its class!
